| Glass Painting Designs > Other Glass Painting

By Hobby Ideas

Difficulty Level Intermediate

Its vacation time and the time for some of art and craft for kids. This tree is made using easily available materials like paper, OHP sheets and glass colours. You may make different shaped leaves to make different types of trees. Also a very good idea to make these trees for some school projects (Parents Guidance is required while making this project)

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Tree With Leaves Painted In Glass Colours - Step 1 | Hobbyideas

Take an A4 sized white paper and draw leaf shapes all over the paper in small and big sizes
The biggest size of the leaf is about 1 inch long and proportionately wide
You will need to make about 50 -60 such big and small leaves to make a tree
Trace the leaves on an OHP sheet using 3D Outliner Glitter - Green
Leave it to dry
Fill in with Glass Colours - Golden Yellow, Green and a mixture of these two, to create few more green shades
Leave it to dry
Cut out all the leaves
Punch a hole in each leaf so as to insert it in the straw
Insert about 10 leaves in the straw from dark to light colours leaving a gap of about 3mm to 5mm in between each leaf
Make about 5 to 6 such straws for the tree

STEP 2:-

Tree With Leaves Painted In Glass Colours - Step 2 | Hobbyideas

Take an A4 sized thick brown card paper
Roll it into a cone and stick the edges with Fevicol MR. Let it dry
Cut the cone flat from the open side so the inverted cone stands flat on the surface
Colour the cone using oil pastel Dark Brown colour in the texture of a tree back
Give small cuts using a paper cutter towards the narrow end of the cone (take your parents help for giving the cuts with paper cutter)
Insert the straw with the leaves in these slits
