Treasure Box

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, White 27, Sky Blue 63, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Water Container, Colour Palette, Pencil, Candy Sticks, Flap of a Corrugated Box, Wooden Button, Silver Cord, Scissors

Description :
A perfect project that has maximised on using waste products to make a jewellery box. We have also used candy sticks, buttons and silver cords all of which are readily available and are basic materials that are found easily and are very inexpensive too. Make your jewellery box of any shape that you desire, take inspiration from this project and get as creative as you can get.
STEP 1
Take candy sticks and stick them together to make the base for the treasure box using Fabric Glue.
STEP 2
Place the candy sticks one on top of the other to form the walls of the treasure box using Fabric Glue. Let it dry completely. Make sure that the height of the wall is 4” high.
STEP 3
Take about 15 candy sticks. Stick them together to make the lid of the box using Fabric Glue. Take the flap of the corrugated box. Draw and cut two arch shapes out of it to make the two opposite arched shaped sides for the treasure box. Cut a rectangle measuring 6” x 4” in size. Stick the two arches from the inner side of the treasure box using Fabric Glue. Make a rectangular cut on the lid from the inner side. Stick the lid to the box using Fabric Glue. Paint the box with Acrylic Colour - White 27.
STEP 4
Your treasure box will look like this at this stage.
STEP 5
Draw few big and small sized honey bees and few concentric hexagons to depict honeycombs on the treasure box. Paint the bees and the hexagonal shaped honeycombs using Acrylic Colours - Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, White 27 and Sky Blue 63. Paint few dotted lines in between with Acrylic Colour - Burnt Sienna 01. Leave it to dry. Stick the wooden button along with the silver cord as the loop on the treasure box using Fabric Glue.
