Difficulty Level Intermediate

Krishna on a peacock traditional Kerala Kasavu

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

The Fabric Acyrlic painting is a quiet a simple one and Kerala pure cotton Kasavu (Golden Embroidery) Sarees are traditional . Excellent wear for summers as it :- 1) White 2) Pure cotton

I have done numerous variations, this is a easy piece for anyone to draw once used to the mural methodological approach . Again Ive combined another tradition of interior temple paintings.

STEP 2:-

Buy any material of your choice if you intend to use white make sure the borders are well knotted (in the cases of plain Pattsari Silk), any textures that holds acrylic paints avoid thin materials like nylon or similar. Art Silk is a good option.

STEP 3:-

Create an outlay of the image you intend to create on an area where the Saree ends after draping another on the end that falls over your shoulder 2 designs of the mural art is sufficient , ill recommend simplicity.

STEP 4:-

Sketch an outline using a charcoal pencil and then outline using a fine tip brush with black acrylic fabric paint.Further color the image as replicated from the source using Fevicryl color combinations use beads if required to increase texture visibility like glitter pieces.

STEP 5:-

Let it dry for a day avoid moisture

Your design is ready to be gently washed the next day and use a thick cloth to cover the design and press only over the cloth while ironing .

Remember the canvas of any painting has to be good the same goes with the saree material
