Rainy Day Card

Give this fun card to a friend to brighten their rainy day! The umbrella will magically unfold when they open the card, to bring a smile to their face.

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Rainy Day Card - Step 1 | Hobbyideas

Gather several colors of blue scrapbook paper, heavy wire, thread, scissors, hole punch and tape.

STEP 2:-

Cut card to size; 8 x 12”.
Fold in half.

STEP 3:-

Cut thinner paper to size; 4” x 8”.

STEP 4:-

Fold paper into ½” pleats, lengthwise.
Fold pleated paper in half to crease.

STEP 5:-

Squeeze glue along one edge of pleated paper.

STEP 6:-

Join ends of together to create a fan/umbrella.
Let dry.

STEP 7:-

Glue umbrella to inside of card, placing the center of the umbrella in the center of the card, toward the top edge.

STEP 8:-

Draw a figure with markers, holding umbrella handle.
Cut out the figure with scissors.

STEP 9:-

Apply glue to back of cut-out.

STEP 10:-

Place figure under umbrella with handle placed in the center of the card.

STEP 11:-

Print with computer, or write poem on white paper.
Cut out and glue inside card.

STEP 12:-

Cut numerous raindrops from blue scrapbook papers.

STEP 13:-

Glue raindrops to the inside pages of the card, avoiding area beneath the umbrella.

STEP 14:-

Glue raindrops to front of the card.

STEP 15:-

Let card dry completely.

STEP 16:-

Fevicol MR, Crayola Gel Washable Markers, Scrapbook Paper, Scissors, Ruler
