Platter With Paper Roses

These simple paper roses can be made into a beautiful looking decorative piece to beautify your home decor. Stick them on the platter or make a wall clock. These beautiful rosese are sure to add the handmade touch

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Take a white carved ceramic platter, the size of a quarter plate

STEP 2:-

Take tinted papers and cut few strips of 1" thickness, few in a 3 quarter of an inch thickness and some in 1/2 inch in size to make the roses in different sizes
You may use 5mm sized pink strips to make the smallest flower

STEP 3:-

The bigger roses are rolled by hand while the smaller ones can be rolled on the quilling tool

STEP 4:-

To make the rose, fold one end of the strip in a slant and roll it around

STEP 5:-

Fold it again in a slant and on folding the strip and rolling it repeatedly it will start forming into a rose
You will have to join two or more strips to make a bigger rose

STEP 6:-

Stick the ends and apply the glue on the base to hold the rose properly together

STEP 7:-

Make about 5 to 6 roses in assorted sizes for a quarter sized platter

STEP 8:-

To make the leaves, roll a few green coloured strips in loose quills
Stick the ends using No Stitch Fabric Glue or Fevicol MR
Pinch the loose quills into petal shapes

STEP 9:-

Arrange and stick the roses and the leaves on the platter in an arrangement of your choice

STEP 10:-

Run a tissue fabric of about 5" wide or a thick satin ribbon from the carved holes on the platter and tie it nicely to hang it on the wall or you may just tie a bow with the tissue fabric

Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue, 5mm Quilling Strips – Multi Coloured, Slotted Quilling Tool , Tinted Papers – in two shades of pink, A white carved ceramic or Glass Platter
