These thick cotton cords tied together form a nice textured surface to paint on and creates a look so different than painting on a regular flat surface.

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Take a 25" long tightly knitted round cord, about 50 in total

STEP 2:-

Make a very watery brown colour with Acrylic Colour - Vandyke Brown for dying the cords

STEP 3:-

Leave the cords to dry

STEP 4:-

Take a red coloured thick thread for tying the cords

STEP 5:-

Tie all the cords tightly next to each other with a maroon thread in bunches of 10

Fasten all the cords on a thick mount board or a drawing board with a packaging tape

Trace the Narasimha design on the cords with red carbon paper

Paint the mane of the Narasimha in a watery shade of Acrylic Colour - Dark Brown and the face in a tan shade made by mixing Dark Brown and White

STEP 10:-

Outline the facial details, whiskers using Acrylic Colour - Black 02
The body and the details on the crown with Sparkling Pearl - Golden Black and Pearl Metallic – Gold
Leave it to dry

Take a round wooden stick of about 18 inches long

The extra space on the sides of the stick is covered by winding the maroon thread around it. Use Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue to fasten the threads on the stick.

Further tie the bunch of cords on the stick one by one

Loosen all the knots from the lower ends of the cords

Sponge dab the loose ends with Pearl Metallic - Gold

Highlight the jewellery with 3D Cone Outliner Pearl Metallic - Gold
