This funky kite mosaic coaster is made simply using coloured mosaic chips or you may create the mosaic chips using Shilpkar. The ribbon tasseled tail of the kite adds a perfect touch of colour and look. You may hang the kite for decoration or use it as a coaster
STEP 1
To make a mosaic coaster with kite design first take an MDF wooden square coaster measuring 6" x 6" inches in size
STEP 2
Take ready coloured mosiac chips in the colours of your choice
STEP 3
You may also make the mosaic chips using Shilpkar
To make the mosaic chips mix Resin Base and Hardener in equal quantities to form an even white dough
Add a drop or two of Burnt Sienna to the dough and mix it thoroughly
Leave it for few minutes and roll into a slab using a rolling pin
The slab can be about 2 mm to 3mm thick
STEP 4
Cut the slab in the squares of about 1" x 1" inch
You may change the quantity of the colour that you add to the dough to get different colour shades
Leave the square chips to dry
STEP 5
Stick 3 to 4 strips of satin ribbon in different lengths on one of the corners of the square wooden coaster. This will be the base of the kite
Arrange and stick the mosaic chips on the coaster using No Stitch Fabric Glue
Leave it to dry
STEP 6
Give dots using ear buds dipped in Acrylic Colour - White for the sticks of the kite
Leave it to dry
Your kite coaster is now ready to be used
