Mermaid Book Ends
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Flesh Tint 30, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Blue 305, Rose Pink 310, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, 7” X 10” MDF Placemat, Pebbles, Sea Shells, Clay Carving Tools, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Looking for an out of the box gift for the special lady on the occasion of Women’s Day; look no further! Here is an interesting DIY made with pebbles and clay, a cute mermaid bookend.
STEP 1
Take placemat measuring 7” x 10” in size for the base of the mermaid book ends.
Paint the placemat in shading manner using Acrylic Colours Prussian blue 19 and White 27.
Let it dry.
STEP 2
Take Mouldit resin base and hardener; mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
Take the dough ball; divide it in three parts for the head, torso, and the tail of the mermaid.
Take a small ball to make the head, make the torso with medium ball and the tail with the biggest ball. Join the parts of the body, merge it properly.
Take some clay to make the spiral hair of the mermaid.
Take two pebbles, stick the pebbles together with little amount of clay and Fabric Glue.
Stick the mermaid on the pebbles with little amount of Shilpkar and Fabric Glue.
Leave it to dry.
STEP 3
Similarly make two mermaids for the book-ends.
Paint the pebbles with Acrylic Colours Dark Green 06, Burnt Sienna 01 and Black 02.
Let it dry.
STEP 4
Paint the mermaids with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Prussian Blue 19, White 27 and Flesh Tint 30. Let it dry.
Take a few sea shells and stick it on the painted pebbles randomly with Fabric Glue.
STEP 5
Take the painted placemat and stick the mermaid with two pebbles on both the ends of the placemat with little amount of Mouldit and Fabric Glue. Leave it to dry.
Your book-ends with mermaids is ready.
