Madhubani painting tastefully done to decorate a mirror, just perfect home decor for those who fancy traditional arts.

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Mark the mirror position on the MDF board.

Draw the madhubani design on the remaining area of the MDF.

STEP 2:-

Paint the design using acrylic colours from Fevicryl Sunflower Kit.
You can mix two or more acrylic colours to get shade of your choice.
Leave to dry.

STEP 3:-

Paint the background using lighter shade of acrylic colour.
Leave to dry.

On it apply a coat of Kwick Krack.
Leave the medium to stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
On it top coat using darker shade of acrylic colour. Apply brush strokes keeping in mind that the cracks will be formed in the same direction as that of the brush stroke.

Leave to dry completely.

STEP 4:-

Stick the mirror on the MDF using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.

STEP 5:-

Take Fevicryl Shilpkar, mix the resin base and hardener evenly to form even dough.
You may sprinkle little talcum powder on your hands to avoid sticking.

STEP 6:-

Take shilpkar dough and roll it in a coil.
Stick the shilpkar coil around the mirror on the MDF using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.
Leave to harden.

STEP 7:-

Paint the hardened shilpkar coil using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour- Black.
Lave to harden.

STEP 8:-

Apply 2-3 coats of Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue on the MDF- excluding mirror, to get a glossy finish.
Leave to dry.

you will need

MDF 6mm thickness, Round Mirror 4mm thickness, Fevicryl Shilpkar, Kwick Krack, Fevicryl Sunflower Kit, Talcum Powder, Pencil, Design, Fine Art Brushes, Palette.
