Learn how to make jewellery box at home with step-by-step tutorial. Making DIY jewellery box is very easy. It has a simple clay modelling octopus on its top. A jewellery box that’s made with friendly clay for kids to have fun with. It's ideal for kids to enhance ad develop their motor skills at a young age. The clay modelling techniques involved are basic and interesting where kids would learn and be thoroughly engrossed creatively.
STEP 1
This project is a very good example for clay modelling for beginners. Take a hexagon shaped wooden box. Paint the box with Acrylic Colour - White 27. Leave it to dry.
STEP 2
Paint the box in a shading manner using Acrylic Colour Pearl - Blue 305 and Sky Blue 319. Leave it to dry.
STEP 3
Take the green and white super dough and mix it thoroughly to make a light shade of green. Take the ball of dough, press the dough between your palms to make the face of the octopus. Take some more dough, roll it to make coils for the tentacles of the octopus. Stick the octopus on the painted hexagonal box using a little Fabric Glue. Create the eyes of the octopus with black and white super dough.
STEP 4
• Stick few small sized colourful stones towards the bottom side of the box to depict the sea bed using Fabric Glue. • Leave it to dry. Conclusion : What kids have created is an octupus using very basic clay modelling techniques. This project as said earlier is a good start for kids to experiment with clay modelling as beginners.
