Festive Toran

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Pink and Orange Fabric (Half A Meter), Paper Canvas, Gotta Patti Leaves, Gotta Patti Lace, Golden Lace, Half Cut Pearls (Round and Tear Drop Shaped), Golden Ball Chain, Ornamental Stones with Bracket, Scissors, Pencil, Pink Wool, Needle and Thread

A decorative toran handmade to perfection is an apt addition to your home décor this festive season. Made with fabric and enhanced with sparkling embellishments makes it the perfect DIY.

STEP 1 : Source the base

Take half a meter of pink fabric. 

STEP 2 : Cutting fabric circles

Cut 3.5” circles using a pair of scissors.

STEP 3 : Preparing the circles

Take a sheet of paper canvas and cut it in the same size as that of the pink fabric circles. Sandwich the paper canvas in between two fabric circles, securing the ends with Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Decorate the borders with gotta patti lace. Make around 5 – 8 such pieces depending on the length of the toran you want.

STEP 4 : Cutting the orange fabric

Take half a meter of orange fabric and cut it into 2.5” in diameter.

STEP 5 : Shaping the fabric

Cut the fabric circles just till the centre and form cones by sealing the edges with Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Make around 5 – 8 such shapes.

STEP 6 : Decorating the fabric circles & cones

Start embellishing the circles & cones with half cut pearls, gold ball chains and ornamental stones using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.

STEP 7 : Paste embellishments

Once embellished completely they would look like this.

STEP 8 : Make tassels

Take a ball of pink wool and make tassels. 

STEP 9 : Assembling the toran & final look

Take a gotta patti lace and stick the circles with cones towards the ends, along with tassels in between the spaces. Once done and ready your festive toran is ready in all its splendour.
