Fern Flair

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Take a stretched canvas measuring 12” x 24”. Draw a fern leaf pattern on the paper in the size of approximately 9” x 24” This is the size of the inner frame on which the canvas is stretched.

STEP 2:-

Trace the design from the rear side of the canvas and cut the leaves with a sharp paper cutter. Let the leaves be arranged in the same pattern as you cut them. Paint the border with Acrylic Color Pearl - Metallic Gold. You may apply 2-3 coats of color for an even look.

STEP 3:-

To color the inner area of the canvas in a light shade of blue, mix Acrylic Color Pearl - Sky Blue and White. Apply it 2-3 times to give an even coat.

STEP 4:-

Take all the cut leaves and paint them in shades of green, made by mixing Acrylic Color Pearl – Spring Green, Turquoise Blue and White. Leave it to dry. Turn these leaves slightly over the pencil to give them a curled look.

STEP 5:-

Stick all the leaves with No Stitch Fabric Glue from the rear side of the canvas. Stick the leaves only on its lower edges. Leave it to dry.

STEP 6:-

Stick green colored, small sized ornamental stones with No Stitch Fabric Glue creating a border on the inner sky blue colored rectangular patch. Leave it to dry.
