A meditating Buddha mural will make the viewers feel calm.

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Draw or trace the design on Fine Art Canvas.

STEP 2:-

Apply a layer of Fevicryl Terracotta Primer on the background area of the design.
Immediately form textures in the primer using toothpick. You just have to make lines, curves, wavy patterns in the terracotta primer by using a toothpick.
Allow to dry completely.

STEP 3:-

Take Fevicryl Shilpkar, mix the resin base and hardener evenly to form even dough.
You may sprinkle little talcum powder on your hands to avoid sticking.

STEP 4:-

Apply Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue in the face and hair area of the Buddha design. Take shilpkar dough and spread it in the face and hair area.
Shape the eye sockets, nose, cheeks, jaw-line, etc. use fingers to shape and smoothen.

STEP 5:-

Take shilpkar dough and roll it in a coil.
Stick these coils and shape them as eyebrows, eye line, lips, ear-ring etc using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue. Refer picture.
Leave to harden.

STEP 6:-

To make hairs, take shilpkar dough and roll it in thin coils, roll the coils to form a spiral coil.
Stick these spiral coils using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue as hairs. Refer picture.
Leave to harden.

STEP 7:-

Similarly make the shawl on the shoulder using shilpkar dough. Make lines in the shawl using paper cutter.
Leave to harden.

STEP 8:-

To make leaves, take shilpkar dough and roll it flat on a flat surface using rolling pin.
Lightly draw leaves on the flattened dough using pencil. Slowly cut the leaves using a pair of scissors.
Mark the veins in the leaves using papercutter.
Stick the leaves as per the design using Fevicryl No Stitch fabric Glue.
Make mid veins in the leaves by sticking thin coils of shilpkar dough.
Leave to harden.

STEP 9:-

Paint the whole mural using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour- Black.
Leave to dry.

STEP 10:-

Sponge dab the leaves using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour- Dark Green and White.
Sponge dab the face, neck and shawl of Buddha using Fevicryl Pearl Metallic Colour- Bronze.
Sponge dab the hairs, ear-ring, tilak using Fevicryl pearl metallic Colour- Gold.
You may give finishing touches of colour using Fine Art Brushes.
Leave to dry.

STEP 11:-

Apply 2-3 coats of Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue on the whole piece to get a glossy look.
Leave to dry.

Tip- You can decorate the mural by sticking decorative stones, kundans and mirrors.

Talcum powder, Paper cutter, Toothpick, Rolling pin (belan), Scissors, Sponge, Design, Carbon paper, Pencil.
