Description :
Use few wires, yarns and fabrics to create this beautiful sculptural piece of a leaf and a beetle. Explore and sculpt these fabric materials into beautiful shapes of your choice
STEP 1
The wires used for making the leaf are all doubled and are twisted to make them thick
Assemble all these wires in the the shape of a leaf as shown in the image
The leaf is about 15 inches long and proportionately wide
You may choose the size of the leaf as per your choice
STEP 2
Twist the flower making tape around the wires to conceal them as well as to cover all open ends.
STEP 3
The leaf is woven with both the green and yellow wool. Start winding one coloured wool around the wires first and then take the other colour to finish the leaf.
STEP 4
Take a recyclable DVD. Cut a red coloured fabric into a circle of about 9" diameter. Give a running stitch along the edges of the fabric as shown in the image.
STEP 5
Pull the thread to gather the cloth under the DVD and stuff some synthetic cotton to puff it up
Pull the threads more tightly and tie it under the DVD
STEP 6
The puffed up part will form something resembling a small cushion
Draw a beetle on the fabric
STEP 7
Paint the beetle with Acrylic Colour - Black 02
Leave it to dry
STEP 8
Enhance the spots on the beetle with red coloured ornamental stones stuck with No Stitch Fabric Glue
Let it dry
