A Pond With Frogs
You Will Need:
Amos I Clay - Blue, Yellow, Green, Red, Black, White, MDF Wooden Placemat, Cotton
Description :
A fun activity for children, make this clay pond with frogs using basic techniques of forming clay. Shape the clay in geometrical shapes and create simple forms like trees, bushes, pebbles and frogs.
STEP 1
Take an MDF wooden placemat in an oval shape and draw the outline of a pond
Take I Clay - Blue and spread it with your fingers over the outlined pond area evenly
STEP 2
To make the green grass area, mix Green and Yellow I Clay and spread it around the pond
STEP 3
Take equal quantities of Green and Yellow - I Clay and mix it till you get a marbelled effect for the trees
Make the tree trunks brown by mixing Green and Red - I Clay and the rolling them in conical shape
The bushes are made by mixing Green and Yellow - I Clay propery in different proportions to get shades of green
STEP 4
Mix Black and White - I Clay to make shades of grey for the pebbles. You may also use some red colour to make the pebbles look maroonish, further scatter the pebbles bordering the pond.
STEP 5
Place the trees and the bushes scattered on the green area
Make tiny balls of I Clay - Red, White, Yellow, Blue and Purple to make the flowers and enhance the bushes with the flowers
STEP 6
To make an island in the pond, stuff some cotton and cover it with grey I Clay made by mixing Black and White I Clay to give a slightly raised effect
STEP 7
The pond will look like this once ready
STEP 8
Make the body of the frogs in Green - I Clay, the legs are made by rolling thin coils in Green – I Clay
The spots on the body of the frog are done using Yellow - I Clay
The features like eyes, mouth and tongue are made using Black, White and Red respectively
Leave it to dry
