Use a flexible outlet pipe to work on this project.
Cut a portion of the flexible pipe and insert one of its ends into the other to form a circle as shown in the image.
Mix the resin and hardener to make your Shilpkar dough. Once mixed, you have about 20 minutes of working time before the dough hardens.
Make a Shilpkar coil and stick it on the top of the pipe (as shown in the image), using Fevicol MR. Allow this to dry. This is the common base on which you can work to make a variety of paperweights. I have made a Tortoise and a Starfish paperweight using this base.
To make a Tortoise paperweight, make the head, tail and limbs of the tortoise using Shilpkar. Attach these to the piece using Fevicol MR.
Paint the entire Tortoise using Fevicryl Acrylic paint: Black. Once dry, apply Fevicryl Pearl Metallic Gold Paint onto the tortoise using your index finger. This gives an antique finish to the tortoise.
You can additionally varnish the tortoise paper weight.
To make a Starfish paperweight, make the limbs of the starfish using Shilpkar.
Attach these to the pieces to the pipe using Fevicol MR.
Use a scissor to work on finer details of the limbs. Allow the starfish to dry.
Paint the entire starfish using Fevicryl Acrylic color: Burnt Sienna.
Work with a mixture of Fevicryl Acrylic Colors: Crimson, Orange, Lemon Yellow to paint the starfish.
Use Fevicryl Pearl Metallic Rust to give an antique finish to the starfish.
You can additionally Varnish the starfish paperweight.
