Take a magazine holder and cover it by sticking black fabric
on it with Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.
For making the kathakali face take a 16” X 20” sized fine art canvas sheet. Make 1/2” strips out of the canvas sheet and weave the strips in a plain mat weave. Use Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue at regular intervals to keep the weave in place.
Take an A3 sized white paper and draw a kathakali mask on it.
Trace the kathakali mask on the weaved canvas using yellow carbon paper .
Paint the mask using Fevicryl Soft Acrylic Colours – Burnt Sienna 201, Black 202, Chrome Yellow 203, Crimson 204, Golden Yellow 209, Light Green 212, Orange 217, Ultramarine Blue 223 and White 227 respectively.
For making the collar of the mask, take a fine art canvas sheet. Draw and cut the collar in 4 sizes, small to big respectively keeping 1/4” variation. Stick them one on top of the other, from small to big using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue. Now stick this collar near the chin of the mask. Refer to the main image.
Stick the mask on the magazine holder using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.
Draw a kolam rangoli pattern all over to the black fabric and paint it in a light shade of grey made by mixing Fevicryl Soft Acrylic Colours - Black 202 and White 227. Refer to the image .
