One can use different leaves to take impressions / prints, you may also use some textured cloth to create textures on the clay.

STEP 1

Take all the clay from the packet and roll it into a ball

STEP 2

Flatten the clay into a thick pancake with your hand or a rolling pin. Seal the cracks as and when they appear by wetting your fingers a bit and merging the clay

STEP 3

Place the leaf with its face up onto the thick clay pancake in the centre. Press the leaf with your thumb slowly to get the impression

Slowly remove the leaf to get the leaf print / impression.

Make small balls of clay to make the catterpiller and the beetle.Stick them on the pancake, pressing it gently with a little water. Make the eyes and the texture on the beetle's body with the help of a pencil point.

STEP 6

Make a grasshopper with thick and thin coils and stick it on the pancake.Give stippling effect with the help of a pencil point to enhance the leaf further. You may colour the slab in the colours of your choice once its semi dried and pierce the holes on the top side for hanging
