Create your own personalised Hand Fan, very useful in all the Seasons.

STEP 1
Decorative Fabric Fan - Step 1 | Hobbyideas

Take an A3 sized white paper and draw the shape of a
traditional fabric fan hailing from the region of Gujarat, with
few motifs of flowers and parrots on it.

Trace the same design on the pink fabric.

Stick few small sized mirrors in the centre of the flowers with Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue. Paint the motifs of flowers and parrots with the traditional Aari work style using Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery - Blue 702, Yellow 703, Light Green 704, Orange 705 and White 707 respectively.

STEP 4

Trace the outline of the fan on both the pieces of the blue khhan fabric and cut along the outlines. Take one of the cut pieces of the blue fabric and stick few small sized mirrors
on the borders of the fan leaving 1/2” from the edges with Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.

STEP 5

Stick the pink fan shaped fabric on blue khhan fabric with Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue. Paint the border of the blue
coloured fabric with aari work around the mirrors using Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery - Yellow 703. Stick the paper canvas on the rear side of the fan and turn the edges backwards for a finished look also make a tunnel on the
top side.

STEP 6

For making the frill of the fan, take a blue khhan fabric with
a border along it’s length. Pleat it and sandwich the pleat
between the two blue fabrics and stick it using Fevicryl No
Stitch Fabric Glue for finished look.

STEP 7
Decorative Fabric Fan - Step 7 | Hobbyideas

Take the wooden stick and wind the golden ribbon on it by sticking it with Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue. Pass the stick through the tunnel and place the fan in the centre of the stick. To decorate it further, take red, ornage and yellow
woollen strands to make 3 pompoms from each of the colours. Use the pompoms on either sides of the fan.

Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery - Blue 702, Yellow 703, Light Green 704, Orange 705, White 707, Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue, A3 Sized White Paper, White Carbon Paper, Pencil, Pink Coloured Fabric, Blue Coloured Khhan Pattern Fabric, Small Sized Mirrors, Wool (Red, Yellow, Orange), Paper Canvas, Wooden Stick (to hang the fan), Golden Coloured Ribbon, Pencil, Scissors.
