This simple technique of using paper bowls as moulds for clay modeling is so much fun for children. Let them imagine the shapes that they can create by using a paper bowl and see their creativity take shape.
Take 1/3rd part of the clay from the packet and roll it into a ball
Take a paper bowl that we will use as a mould
Place the clay in the paper bowl.
Press the clay ball in the centre with the help of your thumb
Seal all the cracks that appear by running a wet finger on the cracks
Continue pressing the clay with your thumb inside the bowl and the other four fingers supporting the bowl from the outer side so that it does not lose it's shape
Seal the cracks as and when they appear
Remove the paper bowl to get a shape like this
Pick up the bowl in your hand and bend the open edge of the bowl to create a smile and let it sit
Run a wet finger all over the surface to give a finished look
Make two small balls of clay for the eyes of the smiley frog and stick them on the shaped bowl.
Define the eyes with the scale and a pencil and also make the nostrils for the frog's head
Leave it to dry completely. It may take a day or two to dry.
You may also paint the smiling froggy using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours once it dries completely
